This course has truly been enlightening. I thought that it will be more linguistics-based considering the nature of the topic (ELL), but I was mistaken. This is the first course I have taken at Regis University that I was able to relate my faith to the course. For the first time, I was able to write and reflect about the human person in the light of my faith. The process has been empowering and humbling. It has been empowering because I was able to learn about some strategies in ELL teaching that I can apply to what I am currently doing, and humbling because I know that I am only God's instrument...
In this day and age, our students are not being provided with opportunities to pause and reflect. Silence to them is deafening. They do not know how to react and interact with solitude, silence, and reflection. Keeping a blog is a wonderful opportunity that our students can engage themselves into. I think it can be used across the curriculum.
Thank you so much to my awesome professor and classmates. Our meeting in this short amount of time is not an accident or even coincidence. I know that it was a purposeful encounter.
